Villa Crina This self catering Transylvanian villa is the rustic jewel among our cottage rentals. It is located in the shepherd's village of Vale in a peaceful spot, just around the corner from Sibiu, and directly at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains.

It stands on the foundations of an abandoned farm barn. Barn and stables were just before the collapse, so we tore them down and built a brand new holiday home over six years - with a lot of patience, time for creativity and attention to detail.
Now, the holiday villa offers spacious, light-flooded rooms, 200 sqm of living space, and quality equipment for high demands. A good choice for lovers of details and anyone planning their family holidays in Romania.

You enter the villa through the garden and the terrace. The 50 sqm living room features oak parquet and includes the kitchen, a wood burning fireplace, and seating for 18 people. From here, a sanitary room with a washing machine, dryer and a toilet is accessible.

The fully equipped kitchen makes cooking a delight. It contains a large fridge combo, dishwasher, gas stove, coffee maker, espresso machine, microwave, toaster, kettle, spices, and more. If you want to take a break, we will cook traditional menus or provide you with farm products from the village.

There is an outside and an inside staircase leading up to the four bright rooms (15-18 sqm) in the attic. They are furnished with a double bed, private bathroom, TV (Astra Satellite), fast internet via Wifi,, and plants. The view is relaxing: it goes up to the village church and out over the lush green forested mountains.
On arrival you will find the beds freshly made. Hand and bath towels, shower gel and soap are available too.

The complete interior of the villa was chosen with care and is fairly new, including kitchen and sanitation facilities, mattresses, and linen. All furniture, windows, doors and stairs where made to measure.

The solar-assisted central heating is backed up twice. Either you fire up the water-bearing fireplace in the living room, which supplies all the radiators in the house, or an automatic control starts a gas heater. In all cases, you can conveniently set the desired temperature with a room thermostat.

The living room opens onto a spacious south-facing terrace (30 sqm) with 14 seats. Stairs lead down from here to the enclosed garden bordered by a creek.
We laid out the garden in three terraces: on the top level, there is a stonewalled barbecue on which you can fry your steak on charcoal, the middle level has a small lawn with rustic seating, and the bottom level accommodates up to two cars. The garden area is grown with flowers, various fruit trees and wine.

The accommodation lies in the sparsely built part of the village, facing towards the wooded Carpathians.
After a few steps you pass the village church and already find yourself in the oldest beech forest of the continent. Hiking towards the mountain pastures you will experience a unique flora and fauna and an unforgettable view of the valley.

Alternatively, benefit from of our central location in the heart of Romania for tours to the medieval fortresses of Sibiu, the Dracula castle, and other sights in Transylvania. Back home, you can uncork a bottle of wine on the terrace and let the day pass by.
