You will find us in the pastoral village of Vale, directly at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains. On the one hand in the middle of nowhere, on the other hand only two steps away from Sibiu, the European Capital of Culture in the heart of Romania.

Vale is a tranquil spot to relax and recharge your batteries. It is set in a natural and unspoiled rural environment, surrounded by the oldest beech forest of the continent and the unique flora and fauna of the Carpathians. A good choice for anyone who wants to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside, wander through pristine forests, and admire the unique beauty of the Romanian mountains - and also an ideal starting point for excursions to all the sights in Transylvania.

Both the Transalpina and Transfagarasan, these old roads across the Carpathians, are easily accessible for exciting day trips in the wild, and in and around Sibiu a number of delightful attractions are waiting for anyone interested in ancient fortresses and historical places.

Our self catering vacation homes have been built from scratch or refurbished from old farmhouses by our own villager-based construction company. We combined local building styles and craftsmanship with contemporary materials. We always paid attention to the details and worked with respect towards the traditions of the area. Finally, over eight years, it was a pleasure to see the cottages grow and their souls revive.

Today, we offer homely lodging with all the advantages of modern convenience. You can choose between two rustic villas for high demands, traditional farmhouses, cuddly holiday apartments, and a shepherd's hut in the mountain meadows.

Each accommodation features a fully equipped kitchen for self catering, 1-4 bathrooms with a washing machine and at least one terrace or porch. Custom-made furnishings, fast Internet via WiFi, and TV via Astra satellite are standard, too. Additionally, the villas offer a fireplace, a garden with brick barbecue and parking lot, while the farmhouses feel comfortable in cozy courtyards with the rustic atmosphere of bygone times.

Our team is eager to make your stay a happy experience. We pick you up from the Sibiu airport or train station and provide a cheap rental car. On demand we supply you with groceries from the local farmers and traditional menus, and if you are interested in an authentic outing we'll harness the horse and guide you along a wild stream into the mountains.

Of course, in case of problems or questions you can always get in touch. We might have one or two tips at hand for you, but we also master the art of the discreet retreat.
